Built to be used by everyone

This is a celebration, and nobody should be shut out of it. If something here does not work for you, tell us and we will fix it.

What we aim for

We build to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. In practice that means every page works with a keyboard alone, every image carries a description, headings run in a sensible order, focus is always visible, and colour contrast is checked against the real values we use rather than assumed.

Every page reads and every link works with JavaScript switched off. The animation on this site sits on top of complete content, not in place of it.

If you prefer less movement

This site has a lot of motion by design. If your device is set to reduce motion, you get a complete still version instead: the same photography, the same gold, the same layout, with no autoplay, no particles and no animation. You do not lose any content by choosing it.

You can set this in your operating system, usually under accessibility or display settings. The site picks it up automatically.

Video

No video on this site plays automatically with sound. Background clips are silent and carry no audio track at all. Anything with sound has controls and only starts when you press play.

At the event

Venue access details appear on The Night page once the venue is confirmed, including step-free routes, accessible parking and accessible toilets. Tell us what you need when you book and we will arrange it.

Tell us when we get it wrong

If you hit a barrier on this site, emailawards@elysianuk.org and describe what happened. We will come back to you, and we will fix it.
