Why We Created the Awards
The idea for the Elysian Awards came from real-life conversations and frustrations. At Elysian, we regularly work alongside professionals from other services – teachers, support workers, therapists, social workers, and outreach teams – who go above and beyond every day, often with little recognition.
We saw the gap. Many of these individuals are doing exceptional work in complex situations, but their efforts often go unnoticed because they don’t fit neatly into traditional systems or outcomes. Their impact is relational, creative, and grounded in care – and that kind of work doesn’t always get the spotlight.
The Elysian Awards were created to change that. We wanted to offer a space where these professionals could be seen, appreciated and celebrated. Not because of job titles or frameworks, but because of how they show up for others.
Each category reflects this aim. Whether it’s for innovation, lived experience, leadership, or therapeutic support, the focus is on recognising the real work – the kind that changes lives, even when no one is watching.
